Sandon is a village and parish in Staffordshire, approximately six miles NNE of Stafford. It is situated on the A51 road. According to MySpace it has a population of 261 people.
The Dog and Doublet Inn in the village was run for several years by Neil Franklin, the former Stoke City and England centre half.
In 2004, Sandon made the national tabloid headlines after being rumoured as the weekend home of England's incumbent Football Manager, Sven-Göran Eriksson. Though this was only press speculation, it is thought to be true due to numerous sightings and Sandon's close proximity to the Lilleshall Abbey training facility.
